Popularize Esperanto, “the language of peace,” as an interlocal tongue in order to allow people of the whole world, to overcome linguistic boundaries, while respecting their native languages, and to communicate on a fair ground.

Make Esperanto A World Tongue

Esperanto is an international language created by Dr. L.L. Zamenhof from present-day Poland in 1887. It’s a neutral artificial language which does not belong to any country or ethnicity. An estimated number of one million people around the world is said to speak this tongue. The World Esperanto Congress has been held annually all around the globe since 1905. Onisaburo Deguchi, the first president of the Jinrui Aizenkai, established the Esperanto-Popularization Association (or EPA: Esperanto-Populariga Asocio) in 1923 and began its activities. We are promoting Esperanto through this association. Join our Esperanto Kunversido! Every year, The EPA holds New Year's Esperanto Camp from the last day of the previous year until the second day of the upcoming one. Participants travel from within Japan and overseas as well – you wlll have a chance to both learn Esperanto and interact with Esperantists (meaning Esperanto learners) from other countries, so please join us for an exciting experience! We offer the following Esperanto Camps and workshops all year around: • New Year's Esperanto Camp (December 31 to January 2, Ten'on-kyo, Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture) •EPA Kanto Esperanto Camp (Taito Ward, Tokyo, Tokyo Headquarters of Oomoto) •EPA Autumn Esperanto Workshop (Tenon-kyo, Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture)
