Universal Love

What is Our 'Universal Love'?

The term "Jingun Banruri Aizen", which roughly translates 'Universal Love', is not only about love toward the whole of humanity, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity and anything else which identifies people to one group or another, but also toward animals, plants, and even inanimate matters such as stones and minerals. It defines a proper attitude to actualize a peaceful world filled with love and goodness, where all things coexist and prosper in harmony.

The original Jinrui Aizen Association ("Jinrui Aizen" is a shortened term for "Jingun

Bangun Aizen") was stated in 1925 by Onisaburo Deguchi who set forth our two core principles of "Jingun Banrui Aizen" and "Bankyo Dokon", meaning "all true religions stem from the same root."

Our Emblem

星ー中_edited.png

The emblem of Jinrui Aizenkai symbolizes the universe.

Red: sun (fire)

White: moon (water)

Yellow: earth

Green star: humanity

Three circles forms the sun, the moon and the earth, and the star in the middle represents humanity.

We must be grateful for the blessings of fire, water and earth which nourish our lives as the Second Leader Sumiko Deguchi composed a poem:

"Blessings of fire, water and earth are the true

aspects of God of Heaven and Earth."

Onisaburo

Onisaburo Deguchi

Onisaburo Deguchi, 1871〜1948

Former name: Kisaburo Ueda. One of the founders of Oomoto*. In an advocacy for harmony across races, nations, and religions, he founded the original "Jinrui Aizenkai" in 1925. Support spread to 1200 locations around the world at its peak period.

"Art is the mother of religion"  -  Onisaburo Deguchi

Onisaburo created an enormous number of art works in calligraphy, painting, and ceramics. The 3,000 raku tea bowls he made possess a beauty of color akin to oil paintings, and after his death, they were named "Yōwan" by experts. In 1972, an exhibition across 13 locations at museums and churches in 6 European countries, starting from Paris, caused a significant stir. He also left behind many prophetic words for the future.

* A Shinto-based religion founded in present Ayabe City, Kyoto, Japan, in 1892.
