Activities to create one world

World Federation Movement

The world federation movement was proposed by Albert Einstein and others who opposed the use of nuclear bomb.

In 1947, advocates from 51 organizations and 23 countries issued "Montreaux Declaration". Propositions include: surrendering of an entire military equipments of all nations to the World Federation; establishment of the World Court; the World Federation Police to be in charge of security matters.

Establishment of International Criminal Court in 2002 is the result of the World Federalist Movement.

The House of Representatives of the Japanese Government adopted a resolution for the establishment of the World Federation in 2005, and also in the House of Councillors in 2016. There is an office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Our Activities

We have worked the city governments in Japan to announce the World City Declaration. City of Ayabe in Kyoto Prefecture was the first, and City of Kameoka the second to declare the World Federation City. On a national scale, more than two hundred local governments declared one. In Mongolia, two villages announced their World Federation City status.

Every year, the World Federation Council host a poster contest, in which elementary and middle school students are given the opportunity to send us drawings relevant to the concept and idea of the World Federation. The prizes are being given locally and we also collect posters from school children overseas.
